Terrorists attempt to blow CRPF vehicle in J&K

Terrorists attempted to blow up a CRPF vehicle by triggering an IED blast at Bandena in southern Pulwama district on Tuesday, wounding five men of the force. The condition of two wounded personnel was stated to be critical. Hizbul Mujahideen claimed responsibility for the attack.
Sources said that the IED was planted on the main road outside the village. "As the CRPF vehicle passed by, the deadly explosive was detonated", said sources. They said that in the incident, which occured at 2.40 pm, five CRPF men travelling in the vehicle were wounded.
Sources said that police and security forces have been rushed to the spot, who have sealed the area to nab terrorists involved in the attack.
A caller identifying himself as the spokesperson of Hizbul Mujahideen told newspaper offices on the telephone that the IED was triggered by the activisits of his group.
Terrorists also tossed a hand grenade on a security forces' patrol party at northern Bandipora causing injuries to one jawan. Earlier security forces had defused an IED in the area averting a major tragedy.
