Like last year, this year too, youth programme is one of the focus areas of the Pravasi Divas celebrations. The Govt, in its efforts to cultivate and productively engage the second generation of the diaspora, is encouraging participation of youth delegates from all over the world.
Each year 50 youths visit India for a 15-day internship programme wherein they are introduced to various aspects of India's political, social, cultural and economic developments. Thereafter, they join the organizers of Pravasi Bharatiya Divas to look after various activities pertaining to the event.
The Youth Internship Program:
The second Pravasi Bharatiya Divas, 2004 provided a unique forum for students of Indian origin to share their views, experience and expectations from India.
