US house resolution greets Sikh-Americans on Baisakhi

Five Democratic lawmakers in the US house have introduced a Congressional resolution on Baisakhi, commemorating the creation of the Khalsa, a fellowship of devout Sikhs, by the tenth Sikh guru, Guru Gobind Singh, in 1699. Sikh Coalition, a community organisation, said here on Saturday that the Georgia state senate also had introduced a resolution honouring Baisakhi, while the cities of Elk Grove, California, and Houston and San Antonio, Texas, had issued proclamations.
