Verizon Wireless to pay parents surprise $7 billion dividend

Verizon Wireless, the biggest US mobile service provider, said on Monday it would pay its parents Verizon Communications (VZ.N) and Vodafone Group Plc (VOD.L) a dividend of $7 billion in June, surprising some analysts who had not expected a big payout.
