Thin maybe in, but not for eyebrows anymore. Now the fuller look — favoured by celebs such as Keira Knightley and Emma Watson is back in fashion!

At the Fall 2010 New York Fashion Week, for designer Alexander Wang’s show, runway models penciled in thick brows. Naturally bushy brows were
also the order of the day at the Christian Siriano show, where models boasted of filled-in and backcombed brows.

According to make-up expert Meenakshi Dutt, bushy brows complement the fitter, more toned and gym-obsessed woman of today. “Their body type is best suited for thick eyebrows. However, those who have very feminine features should opt for thin eyebrows,” she explains.

Make-up artist Ambika Pillai agrees, “If you have a smaller face, stay with thin, delicate brows. Thin brows with strong features will only accentuate the latter, while thick eyebrows on a face with small features will overpower the face.”

But make-up guru Cory Walia has a different take. “In the 80s, very thick and un-plucked brows were in vogue. And now the groomed natural look is hot — neither very defined, nor too filled in.”
