Her love interest will be played by newcomer Singh. The Aditya Chopra film is about Shruti and Bittoo, Delhi University graduates who set out on a tumultuous entrepreneurial venture which brings them in contact with the lavish world of Delhi baraats and weddings.

There was much talk on the set about which ‘Ranveer’ was being filmed. One woman said, “I heard Ranbir so I guess the lead star is Ranbir Kapoor.” Another said, “No they are calling him Ranveer, so he must be Ranveer Shorey.”

The security guard ‘clarified’, “He is neither Ranbir nor Ranveer; he is Riteish Deshmukh.” A film source said, “Ranveer, a fresher with no modeling or acting experience, was selected after his first audition, having impressed producer Aditya Chopra instantly.”

The shooting was to begin at 6 am, but the cameras started rolling at 9.30 am. The scene was of a sweet shop where the lead pair sat and enjoyed Dilli ki chaat.

Extra security was called as the crowd grew and barricades were put up. One cop was heard saying, “The actress is not so big, nobody knows who the actor is. Still we are being bothered on this chilly morning.”
