Just a fortnight back, India prayed for Sri Lanka to lose their last league match against Australia so that they could make it to the final of the CB Series.

As things stand here, following their loss to Bangladesh, India are now hoping for a Sri Lanka victory in the last league
match of the Asia Cup to squeeze into Thursday's final against Pakistan.

A jaded Sri Lanka have lost both their matches here to India and Pakistan and are out of the Asia Cup. But five days after their defeat to Pakistan, Sri Lanka have recharged their batteries.

    Gearing for a win
"We are not here to do anyone any favour. As a team, we are disappointed the way we had played the last few games. Our objective was to get into the final here. For us, each and every international game is very important and we will treat it that way. We want to finish the tournament on a high because we have got a Test series (against England) as soon as we get back," skipper Mahela Jayawardene said at the pre-match media conference.

    Opportunity
If Bangladesh win on Tuesday, they would maiden final entry in the event. "I know we are on the verge of making history," medium-pacer Mashrafe Mortaza said.

"But for that we have to play the way we have in this tournament. The win against India (Bangladesh chased 290 for a win) has given us confidence and the boys are looking forward to give their all."
