Crystal-studded gloves and socks, a set of Jackson 5 jumpsuits are part of 60 of the best items from Michael Jackson’s life that will go under the hammer along with other western pop and Hollywood memorabilia in Tokyo. “It’s the best collection of Michael Jackson items that we’ve ever assembled, and
all came to us from his family and friends he gave them to,” said Darren Julien, chief executive of US-based Julien’s Auctions.
The items will also include the right-hand black crystal-studded glove, a jacket Jackson wore during filming of a 1984 Pepsi commercial, where in an accident he suffered serious burns, and white cotton socks encrusted with clear crystals.
Also on display is an orange shirt he wore for the 1992 Jam video session with basketball legend Michael Jordan and a complete set of red-and-gold jumpsuits he and his siblings — the Jackson 5 — sported in the 1970s.
The auction, also to include items from Elvis Presley, Marilyn Monroe, Madonna, Princess Diana and other celebrities, will be the first of its kind in Asia and is expected to fetch over two million dollars, says Julien’s Auctions.
