Bipasha Basu, who was in Delhi recently to launch her fitness DVD, found herself in the middle of a new controversy.
The Bollywood actress, who was staying at Hotel
Ramada Plaza in the capital, has been accused of locking herself in a room while she was expected as the chief guest at a party organised by the owners (Ashok and Neeru Mittal).
Neeru Mittal informed the media that Bipasha's press conference and DVD launch with Shemaroo was sponsored by the hotel. This included the airfare and the boarding and lodging charges of the actress. Post the launch, the Mittals had thrown a party for Bips. They also claim to have paid Bipasha a lump-sum amount to attend the party.
Ritu Chopra, spokesperson, Ramada Plaza told Hindustantimes.com, "Bipasha had signed a contract to make a brief appearance at the party that was organised by Mr Mittal in her honour. Other celebrities, designers and eminent guest were also invited. But to our disappointment, Bipasha's tantrums ruined the scene."
"The controversy started over a cake. It was incidently Mr Ashok's birthday and the staff requested Bipasha to invite him on the stage when she cut her cake for the DVD launch. However, Bipasha refused and raised a ruckus."
Bipasha Basu remained unavailable for comments.
