Imran Khan definitely has every intention of marrying fiancée Avantika Malik, but contrary to the media buzz, the couple hasn’t set a date yet. At the moment, a January wedding seems remote. The only thing he is sure of is that the wedding will not happen this year.
‘My schedule is hectic. A
few big announcements are expected and once I have confirmed my dates for these projects, I will be in a better position to plan my W-day,” he says.
His engagement was an impromptu affair so Khan wants to ensure that he is there “before, after, and of course, during the wedding”. In fact, if his work permits, he’d like a two-month break. “I want to do it properly, not just grab three days between shoots,” he asserts.
Right now, he is busy shooting a commercial and promoting his latest release,
I Hate Luv Storys, before he flies off to South Africa on Friday to catch the FIFA final.
“Things are so tight that I haven’t been able to sit down and plan my marriage. It’s only the media that is in a rush,” he laughs. “First, they were in a hurry to get me engaged; now, they are in a hurry to marry me off. Then, they will want me to have a child, then another and another, and before you know it, they will have turned me into a grandfather.”
