Hollywood starlet Lindsay Lohan's aspirations to be a leading fashion designer have been scuppered after a former best friend allegedly stole her latest designs. Lohan, who has announced the
expansion of her line of leggings into a full clothing collection in December 2009, found out that her longtime friend Patrick Aufdenkamp stole her latest designs, reported Us magazine.

The 23-year-old actress-turned-fashion designer caught Aufdenkamp copying the sketches she created for her forthcoming clothing line.

The Mean Girls star's selection of hosiery '6126' became a hit when it was first released in 2008 and she announced plans to expand the range to a full line last month.

"He is now running off trying to do his own line...and telling people he's going to fashion market week in NYC on February 18 to debut his line," said a source close to the actress.

Lohan, whose widely-panned artistic collaboration with the high-end label Ungaro continues despite the recent departure of the executive that hired her, said that she is no longer friends with Aufdenkamp.

"I should've known better...but new year for me and a new beginning! Health, happiness, success and love," said the actress.
