Actress Amrita Rao had to pacify a large group of political activists last week — which included getting them lunch, signing autographs for them and pampering an activist’s son — all because they confused her for actress Amrita Arora. Rao was shooting for a PETA campaign in Mumbai when
the activists stormed the venue and disrupted the shoot, because they had been informed that Amrita Arora would be shooting there in her “bare minimals”.

However, they were disappointed to find Rao instead, and she was completely clothed for the shoot. “They realised their mistake and apologised to Amrita Rao and started telling her how much they had loved her in Welcome To Sajjanpur. She, in turn, sent her driver to get them lunch from the Udipi eating joint nearby, and even signed autographs. One of the activists also made a call to his 10-year-old son to come and visit the actress on the sets,” says a source.

Amrita says, “It was quite a scary and entertaining incident. There had been some last minute concept changes and I was so engrossed in the shoot when suddenly I saw a line of unknown men barging onto the sets and creating a scene. Amrita Arora is pregnant, how on earth would she be doing an ad campaign for PETA? Didn’t any one check the facts? I am glad it’s over and I would never want it to be repeated again.”
