Gold coins worth Rs one crore were seized and an air passenger, who allegedly smuggled them from Dubai, was arrested at the airport here by customs officials on Thursday.
The seizure was effected when customs officials on suspicion checked Syed Farooq (37), who chose to go through the
green channel customs clearance route at the Anna International terminal, officials said.
They found 500 gold coins weighing 4.5 kg concealed in his underwear.
