Bips plans to launch a fitness clothing line, fitness DVD and a music video.
Our very own Kolkata girl Bipasha Basu has added another feather to her cap. The Bollywood actress will be hosting the grand show at Benfica Stadium, Lisbon where the names of the New 7 wonders of the World will be announced on July 7.

Accompanying her on stage will be Hollywood stars Ben
Kingsley and Hillary Swank.

The historic occasion will also witness performances by Latino pop singer Jennifer Lopez, American singer Chaka Khan, Italian singer Alessandro Safina, Spanish ballet dancer Joaquin Cortes among others.

Speaking to HT, an absolute delighted Bipasha says, “It is such an honour. I have never ever hosted any show because I have always been very reluctant to wear contact lenses since I have bad eyesight. But to host something like this is a huge honour. It’s like being part of history.”

Bipasha will be flying to Lisbon on July 5 and she adds that the kind of planning will be something so-larger than life that “I am looking forward to every minute of the show.”

Music composer AR Rahman has also composed a special Anthem for the Taj to generate support for voting for the Taj.

The historic occasion will also witness performances by Latino pop singer Jennifer Lopez, American singer Chaka Khan, Italian singer Alessandro Safina, Spanish ballet dancer Joaquin Cortes among others.

Incidentally, Bipasha was approached to host the show recently and she still wonders on what basis she was approached. Bipasha has been chosen by the New7Wonders Foundation, the body which has initiated the New7Wonders campaign.

“Just imagine I am with the some of the most reputed people in the world including Heads of States and the best entertainers of the world. And to get a chance to host a show with Swank and Kingsely is an absolute honour."

So, how confident is Bipasha of Taj making it to the list?

“Well, Taj Mahal is one of the most beautiful structures in the world and as a kid I have seen it. India does have the edge but it all depends how many votes it gets. And I hope people vote a lot.,” she adds.

Bharat Kapadia, chairman, India Unites for The Taj campaign said: “The final structuring of the show will be declared soon.” Indeed, the Taj needs many more votes because as per a release from the New7Wonders Foundation “the odds are not exactly in India’s favour.”
