A quarrel over an IPL match led to a father killing his 24-year-old son on Sunday night. The accused later surrendered to the police.
The police said Meghnath Kamble (60) and his son Sandhesh were alone in their one-room home in Meghwadi area of Jogeshwari (E) watching television after
dinner.
“At around 10:30 pm, as the father was preparing to sleep, he asked his son to switch off the television. However, the son was adamant on watching IPL,” said police sub-inspector Jagannath Chavan attached with Meghwadi PS.
The police said this led to an argument and “the father in a fit of rage stabbed the son on the chest with a vegetable knife” Chavan said. Neighbours took Sandhesh to the Holy Spirit hospital close by where he was declared brought dead by the authorities. Sandhesh was doing a diploma course in computer education. His mother Madhuri is 54 and brother Sameer, 20, is a college dropout.
