Sachin Tendulkar's magnificent double ton in the second ODI against South Africa came at a ground which was not the first choice and GDCA curator Ajay Sahasrabuddhey said he had never thought in his wildest dream that history would be written. About 20 days back the cricket officials and
locals here were not aware that a One-day match will be played here.

Gwalior was nowhere in the itinerary when the ODI series was planned by the BCCI. It was Kanpur, which was scheduled to host the match. But the bickering over fee between the UPCA and the state government led to shifting of the match.

Their loss was not only Gwalior's gain but also of the whole cricket world's as the rarest of rare achievement was recorded and that too by India's own Tendulkar.

The curator of Gwalior Division Cricket Association Ajay Sahasrabuddhey came to know about the allotment of the match on February 5 and today he is one of the happiest man.

"I never thought in the wildest of my dreams that this would happen on a wicket prepared by us. I was asked on the morning of February 5 if you could host the match. We took up the challenge and prepared the ground in 18 days," Sahasrabuddhe told PTI.

"We are on top of world. We expected 300 and India scored 400 and Tendulkar scored 200. This is amazing feeling. We have also gone into the history books," he added.

For Tendulkar, this has been a happy hunting ground as in the last five innings he has scored one hundred and two 50s. The last knock was of 97 against Pakistan in 2007 and before that he had scored 100 against Australia in 2003.
