From a feisty Punjabi girl in Yash Chopra's Veer-Zaara to a chatterbox in Shyam Benegal's Welcome to Sajjanpur, actress Divya Dutta has done it all and the actress says she is lucky to be without an image in the film industry.

"I have been lucky to get different roles. I am totally imageless. If I can work with Shyam Benegal and Yash Chopra together, who are the kings of art house and commercial cinema and win awards for both of them then it means I have placed myself everywhere," Divya told PTI in an interview.

Divya, who has completed a decade in the industry, first got recognition by dubbing for Lisa Ray in Kasoor (2001). Since then, she has carved a niche for herself with supporting roles in films by heavyweights like Rakyesh Omprakash Mehra and Rituparno Ghosh.
"You can't call me a stereotypical heroine, I am here to stay as I am known more as an actor. There are few girls in Bollywood who can do that and I have my own little place where I have been able to work with all the big names," she said.

Despite getting critical acclaim, Divya has done very few films where she has got the opportunity to play the lead but the actress does not regret it.

"You can't play the lead in every film, look at Sanjeev Kumar or Irrfan Khan in recent times, they are known for their acting and can't be ignored. In females its a very limited category and I am enjoying what I am doing," Divya added.
