For starters, what’s this I’m hearing?But this is not the only movie sourced from the Bourne trilogy.. since another one will take off around the same time as Saifu’s.. sometime this August. That Saif Ali Khan’s next as producer, Agent Vinod, also featuring girlfriend Kareena Kapoor, is said to be borrowing some twists and turns from The Bourne Ultimatum.
Reminds me of my momma’s zamana when five films on the revolutionary freedom fighter Bhagat Singh were being made simultaneously.
Anyway, this other Crooked movie is Abhinay Deo’s second as a director and toplines the Bachchan couple, Abhishek and Aishwarya. Deo is currently in the midst of post-production for his directorial debut, Delhi Belly with Imran Khan.
So both Saifu and Abhi are replaying Matt Damon’s Jason Bourne. Hmm.
Incidentally, this is not the first time Bourne has made waves on desi shores. About five years ago, Anees Bazmee started Benaam with Ajay Devgan, Sameera Reddy and Bhumika Chawla.. based on The Bourne Identity. The film’s still languishing in the cans.
Tell you what, I won’t be surprised if all these desi Bourne flicks release on the same day. Such unhappy coincidences happen, but only in our movie town. Remember Bhagat Singh?
