Hollywood heartthrob Matt Damon is keen to don the director's hat and has even decided the story for his film.

Damon said that he is eager
to direct a film which will as simple as Good Will Hunting for which he won an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay with friend actor Ben Affleck in 1997, Bang Showbiz.com reported.

"I want a simple little human story. Something like 'Good Will Hunting' or something that's smaller like that. Nothing too tricky the first time," Damon said.

"I don't know if I'll be in it. I'd prefer not to be. I've heard from other people and Ben told me it's tough, it's a lot of hard work," he added.

However, till he embarks on his directorial venture, he doesn't want to take time off as he is still getting good movie roles.

The actor, who was nominated for an Oscar for his role as South African rugby player Francois Pienaar in Invictus this year, confirms he has a busy schedule ahead of him.

"I want to direct someday and I can't really pass up the chance to work with the people I'm getting to work with," Damon said.

"I've worked with Paul Greengrass three times now, and Clint Eastwood twice, and Steve Soderbergh five or six times, and the Cohen Brothers this month. As long as that keeps happening, I can't see myself taking time off, unless the work dried up," he added.

The 39-year-old star is currently starring in Paul Greengrass-directed action movie Green Zone.
