Political parties were guarded in their response to the Indo-US nuclear deal. The Left reserved its comments, saying it was studying the deal and would only comment on it after examining the fine print.
A critical reaction seems to be on the cards keeping in mind the CPI-M’s opposition to
the Indo-US naval exercise in September.
The BJP went into a huddle at A.B. Vajpayee's residence with former External Affairs Minister Yashwant Sinha saying “the reservations we expressed earlier are still there”. He said, “Our fears remain in place. They, in fact, have multiplied.” The BJP will release a detailed response on Saturday.
