Mukesh Sharma, who is BSP's Lok Sabha candidate from the Baghpat constituency.Pandit was addressing an election rally in Baghpat district on Tuesday.
"A case has been registered against BSP MLA Guddu Pandit under section 506 (criminal intimidation)," police inspector Mukesh Kumar told IANS on phone."During the election rally Tuesday in Teekri locality in Baghpat, the MLA threatened the public to be ready to face dire consequences if they come in between his brother's victory," said Sharma.The MLA also threatened a police officer during the public rally, the police officer said.
"Pandit also said as he belongs to the ruling party (BSP). He has the full right to use the government machinery on his own terms," added Sharma.The case against Pandit was registered late Wednesday after seeing the video footage of the meeting, police said.Uttar Pradesh's election office has also sought a report in this regard from the district authorities of Baghpat, some 400 km from Lucknow.
