A 30-year-old Infosys employee smothered his wife with a cushion and then hung himself early on Sunday. Police said Amit Budhiraj wrote in his suicide note that he choked his wife Rinko Sachdev, 28, after a fight over her suspected extra-marital relationship with her colleague.
Budhiraj, who is originally from New Delhi , was a software engineer. Sachdev worked as a relationship manager in Standard Chartered Bank. The couple was married for a year.
Police said Rinko’s neighbour Urmila discovered the bodies on Sunday morning. “We will conduct a post- mortem after their relatives arrive. We learnt Rinko moved from Mumbai after marriage,” a police officer said. A spokesperson for Infosys declined comment.”
