A local court on Sunday sent 10 SIMI activists accused in the serial blasts case in Ahmedabad, including mastermind Mufti Abu Bashir, to judicial custody. Jahir Sheikh, Imran Sheikh, Sajid Mansuri, Iqbal Sheikh, Samsuddin Sheikh, Yunus Mansuri, Gyasuddin Ansari, Arif Kagzi and Usman
Agabattiwala, along with Bashir, were produced before metropolitan magistrate JK Pandya after the end of their police custody.

The crime branch which is investigating the serial blast, is likely to apply for further remand of the accused on Monday.

Five people including SIMI chief Safdar Nagori have been brought from Madhya Pradesh for questioning in connection with the July 26 blasts which calimed 55 lives.

According to police, Nagori and his men had organised SIMI training camp in Kerala, Madhya Pradesh and Halol (Gujarat) and gave inflammatory speeches.

Police claim that it is during these camps that they hatched plan for serial blasts and planting of bombs in Surat.
