Two Indians accused of kidnapping Nepalese schoolgirl

Two Indian nationals have been arrested for allegedly trying to kidnap a 10-year-old girl from Nepal's western district of Syangja, according to the police. Molazim Mian, 36, and Mohammad Mahim, 30, both residents of Raxaul of Motihari district adjoining Nepalese border town Birgunj, were
arrested in Putalibazaar of Syangja district on Thursday. They were running a some small business in Syangja.

They were caught by the locals while trying to lure the girl as she was returning home from school, the police said.

The agitated residents pelted stones and bricks at the police for failure to halt such cases in the district, which they claimed, were on the rise.

Police Inspector Resham Bahadur Shreatha, who was injured in the stone pelting, has been admitted to Syangja district hospital.
