“I can’t give out too many details yet but one of the films is an adaptation of a classic English play. Both have huge canvases. I should be shooting for them by October,” informs Khan. She says that
she was getting offers even before her debut film, Nishabd, that released three years ago. “But I couldn’t imagine myself in most of the roles offered to me. But in these two films, I immediately connected with the characters I play,” she says. Is she playing the leading lady? Khan points out that the concept of a leading lady is different in the West. “You can have Nicole Kidman, Drew Barrymore and Halle Berry in one film with each one playing an important character befitting a leading lady,” she points out. “I have important roles in both my films too.”

‘I got stuck becuause of the volcanic ash’
Europe is normal now. But a few weeks ago, volcanic ash delayed my return to India. I’d gone on a short trip to the UK, hoping to be back in time to promote Housefull. But in the aftermath of the volcano, my flight plans went for a six!

‘I’m a shy girl, really’
I’m a shy girl like my Housefull character who will make love with her man only after marriage. That’s why I could empathise so easily with this character. I may dress glam and behave uninhibitedly on screen, but that’s the character you see, not the real Jiah. Yes, I wore a bikini in Housefull. You can’t wear a ‘salwar-kameez’ on an Italian beach, can you?

‘I’m single’
I’m single and hardly sexy. There were rumours that I was dating some prince. That’s trash!  I don’t have time for a relationship for the next five years at least even though I dream about my Mr Right every night. I hope he comes on a white charger and sweeps me off. I know it’s very fairy 'tallish' but then I’m a Piscean!

‘Deepika, Lara and I share a great rapport’
Everyone wonders how Sajid (director Sajid Khan) juggled three actresses and three actors so well. Simple: He never lets anyone feel let down. I had a blast working with Deepika (Padukone) and Lara (Dutta). The rapport continues even after Housefull has released.

‘Akshay Kumar is an inspiration’
I’m often asked how I’m surviving without a godfather in Bollywood. I say that talent always gets noticed. Look at Akshay (Kumar), Riteish (Deshmukh) and Arjun (Rampal). None of them came from a film family yet they have made it big.
