As the sun rays fell on the majestic Zabarwan hills in the picturesque Kashmir valley on Tuesday, the foothills were agog with the public queueing up for the opening of the Tulip gardens this season where the Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister was the first visitor.

Abdullah personally purchased the tickets for himself and Assembly Speaker Mohammed Akbar Lone while stepping into the sprawling tulip field spread over 30 hectares in which more than 12 lakh tulip bulbs of 70 varieties have been planted.
"God has given us this beautiful Kashmir and now its our turn to make this paradise more beautiful," said Omar while taking a step into Asia's largest Tulip garden.
Omar refrained from making any statement on further beautification of the Tulip garden in view of the model code of conduct in force.
However, the young Chief Minister was mesmerised by the beauty of the four-terraced rows of tulips which give the impression of a rainbow in bloom. "Its beautiful and I don't think I need to add anything more to it," Omar said.
