The Enforcement Directorate today handed over a sealed envelope to former Jharkhand Chief Minister Madhu Koda, who is facing money laundering charges, at his residence in Ranchi. "We have given it (sealed envelope) to Kodaji," an ED official told newsmen when asked whom did he delivered
the envelope.

Accompanied by an IT official, he refused to give any further detail on the fresh envelope even as the ED had served summons to Koda to appear before it on November 13.

After a brief break following Koda's illness, the IT will start grilling Koda from tomorrow in connection with the Rs. 2000 crore alleged hawala transactions and illegal investments that surfaced on October 31.

The scam surfaced after the IT department conducted raids on 76 premises across the country on October 31, including the residences of Koda.

Meanwhile, several people, apparently from Koda's Singhbhum Lok Sabha constituency, were allowed to meet him at his residence even as the media was kept out.
