The body of a fourth year engineering student of IIT Kharagpur was found hanging from the ceiling of his hostel room on Thursday.
The student, R Rao, who was studying chemical engineering, was depressed for the past few days over his exam result as he had scored lower than his expectation, IIT sources said.
The body was found by a sweeper in the afternoon.
