In the second such incident in eight days, a man allegedly committed suicide on the tracks of Rabindra Sarobar metro station in Kolkata on Friday, disrupting underground train services in the city during peak hours.
Metro railway sources said 35-year-old Arnab Mukherjee jumped on the
tracks just as a train entered the station at around 0958 hrs.
Services on the track remained disrupted for nearly half-an-hour till the body was removed, though trains continued to run on the other track.
The cause of the suicide remained unclear.
On November five, a 45-year-old man, an officer with the Andhra Bank in the city, had committed suicide by jumping under a train at Rabindra Sadan station.
