An air passenger was arrested on Friday for allegedly carrying a bullet in his bag at NSC Bose International Airport in Kolkata.
Police said 30-year-old Afsar Ahmed Chowdhury was arrested as a bullet of a 9-mm pistol was found in his bag during security check before boarding an aircraft to his hometown of Silchar in Assam.
Chowdhury had come to Kolkata airport from Bangalore in a previous flight, sources said.
His mother and sister were also travelling with him from Bangalore. He was later handed over to officers of airport police station.
