A neutral venue should be chosen for the Indo-Pak cricket series
This refers to the report India to resume cricket ties with Pak, host ODIs in Dec (July 17). As a cricket fan, I welcome the resumption of cricket matches between the two nations. But, keeping in view the recent
developments, especially the arrest of Abu Jundal, India should not host the series. Any India-Pakistan cricket match being a high voltage game with emotions running high, neutral venues like Sharjah should be chosen for the series. For the two countries which haven't played a series after cricketing ties were snapped following the 2008 terror attacks in Mumbai, the upcoming series will be a delight for every cricket fan across the globe.

Make the best of golden years
This refers to Aamir Khan's article Rewire, don't retire (July 16). With age comes wisdom and it is this wisdom of senior citizens that we, as a society, need to make the best use of. Their experience can be used to mentor youngsters. If retired bureaucrats can take up high-profile positions in various private and public sector organisations, why can't people from other sectors do the same?

A case of poor planning
This refers to the report Life better without BRT, research body tells HC (July 17). A study by the Central Road Research Institute (CRRI) has finally confirmed that the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system has been a failure in the capital. From convoluted traffic intersections to unsafe movement of pedestrians, the BRT speaks of ill-planning and colossal waste of taxpayers' money. Moreover, the significant manhours lost in the poorly-conceived BRT model is something that the government cannot compensate for. It's time the Delhi government abandons this failed model and opts for a tried-and-tested model.
