As per reports, Irrfan Khan has opted out of Tigmanshu Dhlia's Shaagird, which also stars Mohit Ahlawat and Nana Patekar.
After supporting roles in The Namesake and A Mighty Heart, Irrfan Khan has developed this kink about playing only the main protagonist in the movies he acts in India.

This has led to a fall-out with director Tigmanshu Dhulia who gave the actor one of his most widely
acclaimed roles as a small town don in Haasil.

Initially, Khan had agreed to act in Dhulia's Shaagird in which Nana Patekar and Mohit Ahlawat play guru and chela. Now, Khan has opted out on sensing that he has a role of lesser substance and impact.

News is that Khan shot for the film for a couple of days in Delhi. Dhulia denies this though, stating, "Irrfan had date issues, he didn't shoot with us even for a day However, he chooses not to reply when asked about Khan's exit from the project.

Friends wih the actor for almost a decade, Dhulia had also cast him in Charas. On being asked if he would cast Khan in any of his future projects, the director again answered with silence.

Right now, the shooting of Shaagird has come to a halt – a search is on for an Irrfan Khan replacement.
