Ram Gopal Varma is very upset with Ranbir Kapoor for refusing a vital role in
Sarkar 3. He feels Ranbir was best suited to play Kay Kay Menon’s son and Amitabh
Bachchan’s grandson in the film. His character would have taken the powerful Subhash Nagre Empire forward.
A website reports that Ramu approached him with the offer but Ranbir flatly refused. Ramu was shocked that Ranbir refused to work with Big B but Ranbir is already doing Rajneeti and has a similar role in the film. He did not want to take up two similar projects at the same time.
Ramu is said to have wanted a salable Bollywood actor for this important role and did not find anyone except Ranbir suitable for it, hence he has decided to shelve the project.
However, sources close to Ramu deny these rumours and say Ramu isn’t planning the third film in the Sarkar series so there is no question of the star cast at all.
Wasn't Hrithik Roshan approached earlier for the same role. So that makes two superstars who've perhaps decided to not work with RGV.
