A walkathon was organised in Mumbai on Sunday to bring the Thackeray cousins, Raj and Uddhav, together "for the betterment of Marathi people".
Senior Shiv Sainik from Worli, Satish Walunje, who launched the campaign, said the Sena workers have not given up hope to bring the
cousins duo together.
Walunje, who had launched a 'Thackeray jodo campaign' in May, organized the walkathon from Raj's house in Dadar to Uddhav's residence in Bandra.
The walkathon, started from Krishna Kunj, the residence of the MNS president Raj Thackeray, and went to Matoshree, the residence of Shiv Sena executive president Uddhav Thackeray. The demonstration was a 'silent morcha'.
Activists gathered near the statue of late Meenatai Thackeray, wife of Sena chief Bal Thackeray, at Shivaji Park, before proceeding to Krishna Kunj and Matoshree.
"We have no other political aspirations; we just think that the cousins should unite and work together for the Marathi cause," he said.
The walkathon was part of the 'Mazi Chalval Mi Maharashtracha' (My Movement, I Belong To Maharashtra) campaign.
The event received a cold response from Uddahv Tahackeray who said, "No one should make any efforts to create confusion among Marathi people. For the last 45 years Shiv Sena has been fighting for the rights of Marathi manoos".
