The BJP today lashed out SP Chief Mulayam Singh Yadav saying his refusal to apologise for his "sexist" remark on women's reservation Bill was "irresponsible and insensitive". "Yadav has been unapologetic about his recent sexist remarks. Nonetheless, nothing better was expected of him. He
is free to voice a political opinion and that is true of any individual or group associated with any political party or ideology," BJP spokesperson Rajiv Pratap Rudy said.

BJP, however, maintained Yadav had no "business" to use such language.

"Yadav has no business to comment on grace and dignity of women at large. The repeated unapologetic assertion is irresponsible, insensitive and callous. BJP outrightly condemns it," Rudy said.

Yadav had said two days back that if 33 per cent reservation was given to women in Lok Sabha and state assemblies, it would benefit only women from elite and rich families "whom the youths would whistle at".
