A Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) employee has been arrested for allegedly raping a woman in a car and then dumping her in Dwarka on Christmas Eve. Mohit Beniwal (25), a resident of Gurgaon, had allegedly raped the woman after offering her a lift in his car. The police said they have
recovered the victim’s mobile phone from Beniwal.

A 22-year-old woman had lodged a complaint on December 25. She told the police that she had gone to a bar in Chanakyapuri to celebrate Christmas. She was alone.

She told the police that when she was leaving the bar around 1:30 a.m., Beniwal had offered her a lift.

But he took a detour, drove around for three hours, sexually assaulted her and fled after dumping her in Dwarka, police said.

“We arrested him with the help of the payment he made through his credit card. After identifying him through the CCTV footage, we traced his address in Gurgaon,” said a senior police officer.

Police have also recovered the Santro car in which the woman was reportedly raped.

Medical examination had confirmed that the woman was raped. A case was subsequently registered at Dwarka (north) police station.

Police said no traces of alcohol were found in her blood.
