His visit to India gave British Prime Minister David Cameron an opportunity on Thursday to realise his dream of hitting Indian cricket icon Kapil Dev for a six even if the ball used by the bowling great was that of tennis. "Thank you (Prime Minister Manmohan Singh) for helping
me realise my childhood dream when today I hit Kapil Dev for a six in the Hockey stadium where he was bowling at me with a tennis ball rather than a cricket ball to make my life easier," he said while addressing a joint press conference with his Indian counterpart.

Cameron showed his skills with the cricket bat at the National Stadium where he played out a few deliveries bowled to him by the legendary Kapil Dev.

Kapil Dev, India's only world cup wining captain, sent down a few balls to the British Premier when he visited the national stadium to have a look at the Commonwealth Games venues.

National Stadium, which hosted the hockey World Cup early this year, is a venue for the Games hockey event too.

Cameron had words of appreciation for the renovated facility and also wished the organisers success for the Games.

Apart from Kapil, another former Indian cricket captain Bishan Singh Bedi, legendary runner Milkha Singh and sprint queen P T Usha were also part of the delegation invited on the occasion.
