In another case of violence on school campus, a Class VIII student of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Delhi Cantonment, stabbed and grievously injured a senior with a paper cutter on Monday. Police said it happened during a scuffle between two groups of students on the school playground. Rahul Singh,
a Class XI science student, received injuries on his shoulders and abdomen and had to be operated upon.

A senior police officer said the Class VIII boy, Shravan (name changed), had passed lewd comments on the sister of Rahul's classmate Ajay (name changed) on January 31. Ajay wanted to teach Shravan a lesson. So, on Monday, he along with Rahul and another friend confronted Shravan and two of his friends in the school playground at around 12.30 pm. Soon, a scuffle broke out.

A student said one of the seniors was carrying the paper cutter. "During the scuffle, Shravan snatched the cutter and attacked Rahul," he said.

Rahul's father KK Singh said: "There was a clash between two groups of students and my son was attacked when he tried to intervene in the scuffle." A case under Juvenile Act was registered at the Delhi Cantonment police station. Two boys were detained in the case. They would be produced before a magistrate on Tuesday.
