A minor fire on Tuesday broke out in a Metro station in north-west Delhi this evening which partially damaged singalling system affecting the services, officials said in New Delhi. The blaze was reported from an air-conditioner in the signal room of Peetampura Metro station around 5:40
pm, fire brigade officials said.

A fire tender was rushed to the spot to douse the fire.

Delhi Metro spokesperson Anuj Dayal said a signalling cable was damaged in the fire which affected the train services.

“There was a delay in the services as the singalling system was not working. We have switched over to manual mode. The drivers cannot speed and they are driving slowly,” Dayal said.

He said the services were never stopped.
