Five Uzbekistani women alleged to be call girls were arrested along with an Indian woman from an apartment in south Delhi, police said on Wednesday.

The accused, all in their mid-20s, were arrested from a flat in Lajpat Nagar on Tuesday evening. Farida, 42, who ran the prostitution racket, was also nabbed.

"We had received information that a prostitution racket involving foreign nationals was operating in Lajpat Nagar," Deputy Commissioner of Police (South District) Anil Shukla said.

"During their sustained interrogation, all five girls admitted that they used to visit India for short duration prostitution, as they earn handsomely here from their clients," he said.
