The dense fog that continued to blind the national capital Saturday is likely to continue till January-end, the weatherman has said.
The visibility dipped to near zero again Saturday. Over the past couple of weeks, the heavy fog has been affecting air and rail traffic. "Respite is
unlikely at least for another week," the India Meteorological Department (IMD) official said.
"Dense fog Saturday morning caused visibility to drop to zero for many hours early in the morning. General visibility slightly improved by 9 a.m. and was recorded at less than 100 metres."
"These weather conditions will remain at least till January-end," the official added.
The minimum temperature Saturday was 7.7 degrees Celsius, a notch below average for this time of the year. The daytime temperature could touch a maximum of 21 degrees Celsius.
The maximum temperature was 18.6 degrees Celsius Friday, two degrees below average.
