Ahead of Anna Hazare's August 16 fast-unto-death plan, there is another stand-off between civil society activists and Delhi Police. The permission given team Anna for the venue of the fast comes with a dozen riders.
Hazare wrote an open letter to the Prime Minister: "

Kijiye. Kuchch thos kadam uthayiye (Be bold, take firm steps)".
By evening the PMO sent back Singh's message that he "should take his grievance to Delhi Police".
Delhi Police had imposed conditions like a three-day limit for Hazare's fast at Delhi's Jaiprakash Narayan Park and crowds under 5,000.
The campaigners, under the banner of India Against Corruption (IAC), rejected the riders, calling them "murder of democracy" and said they will court arrest if the fast is lifted in three days.
Delhi Police has said the venue cannot be allotted for more days "due to legal and administrative constraints".
The letter to the PM also said: "Isn't it ironic that two days ahead of the 65th anniversary of Independence Day, you are trying to snatch from us the 'independence'? I wonder with what face (you will) address the nation on August 15."
IAC wanted to hold the fast at Jantar Mantar, where after a similar agitation in April, it forced the government to speed up the lokpal bill.
