Former Jharkhand chief minister Madhu Koda (38), who is facing charges of money laundering and illegally amassing assets in India and abroad, tried to skip questioning by Income Tax officials after he attempted to excuse himself from I-T interrogations on Saturday. Madhu Koda
has showed up in his home town Chaibasa, hours after I-T officials investigating the case said he had disappeared from his home in Ranchi.

Meanwhile, Koda has claimed his father was ill and had to go meet him in his hometown. Koda had however left without informing I-T officials about his trip.

On Friday, Koda apprehended threat to his life and played the tribal card alleging he was being harassed because of his tribal identity. According to the media, Koda claims that this conspiracy to annihilate him has become a threat to his life and the media is blowing it out of proprtions.

"I am being harassed as I am a tribal belonging to a poor family," Koda, who was without any security, had said.
