Two cyber cafes and two hotels in Delhi's backpackers' hub, Paharganj, could provide vital clues to David Coleman Headley, alleged Lashkar operative, and his handlers across the border.
The US citizen of Pakistani origin is under arrest in the US for terror links and suspected plans to
carry out strikes in India. Headley, who visited India a number of times, stayed at two Paharganj hotels in central Delhi during his four-day stay in the Capital in March.
On March 9, he spent two hours at Star View Café and returned for an hour the next day, police sources said.
On March 8, Headley visited Kesri cyber café.
HT had on Tuesday written about the cyber cafés the terror suspect visited.
Investigators managed to zero in on the computers used by Headley and experts were going through the data, sources said.
The police will hand over the information to National Investigation Agency, which has registered a case against Headley.
"It could prove to be major break for us if we manage to retrieve the data cleanly," a police source said.
Headley, who arrived from Abu Dhabi on March 7, checked into De Holiday Inn hotel in Paharganj at around 4.45 p.m. He stayed in Room 205, but early next morning, moved to Anand Hotel across the road. He stayed there for two days.
