Former Afghan prime minister shot dead

A suicide bomber killed the governor of Afghanistan's southeastern Paktia province today, the provincial police chief said.

Governor Hakim Taniwal along with his driver was killed outside his office in Gardez, the provincial capital, General Abdul Hanan Raufi said.

"We have no more details at this stage, but unfortunately, the governor has been killed in this suicide attack," he said.
