Security has been tightened across Bihar in view of the two-day bandh called by banned CPI (Maoist) from Monday against Centre's move to intensify anti-Naxal operations.
"Tight security has been put in place in naxal-hit areas in Bihar in view of the shutdown," Additional Director General
of Police (HQ), Neelmani, said.
All police stations in naxal-hit districts of Gaya, Nawada, Jehanabad, Nalanda, Aurangabad, Bhojpur, Rohtas, Kaimur, Muzaffarpur, Sitamarhi, Darbhanga and Madhubani would remain on high-alert to effectively tackle the naxalites, he said.

Additional companies of Special Auxiliary Police (SAP) and Bihar Military Police besides central para-military personnel have been deployed in these areas, Neelmani said.
The spokesman of Bihar-Jharkhand-Orissa-Chhatisgarh special area committee of CPI(Maoist), Gopal, had on October nine gave a call for the state-wide bandh to protest against the Centre's move to trample their so-called revolutionary movement.
