Tension gripped the city on Sunday as soon as news regarding firing on Sant Niranjan Dass, Head of Dera Sachkhand Ballan, and his supporters in Vienna, Austria reached the area.
Followers of the sect started gathering the Buta Mandi locality in protest against the firing incident and
torched a truck parked in the area, police said.
Senior Superintendent of Police R K Jaiswal said policemen have been deployed at sensitive points to check any untoward incident.
