A local farmer Dost Ali has filed a complaint with Mohangarh police station, around 65 kms from Jaisalmer, alleging that a bomb was dropped on a five bigha field owned by him near the IAF's firing range close to the Indo-Pak border, police said. In his complaint, Ali alleged that his
house and crop being cultivated on the plot of land were damaged due to the bombing on February 13 at around 1130 Hrs, SP Dr. Vishnu Kant told PTI.

No human loss was reported in the area, he said.

A joint team of Indian Airforce (IAF) and Indian Army has reached the spot to investigate the matter as the place is close to the firing ranges of both the Army and the IAF, he said, adding, scraps were collected from the spot to verify the identification of material used in the bombing.

Further details are awaited.

Meanwhile, defence sources in New Delhi said they had received reports of the bombing and upon verification it was found that the ammunition was not IAF's as all its bombs are accounted for.
