Alleging to have been duped by Bollywood item girl Rakhi Sawant, a local shopkeeper Jatin Sharma, 24 in Amritsar has filed a criminal and a civil suit against her. While moving the court of Bagicha Singh, Judicial Magistrate (first class), Jatin said  he had taken this step "with a heavy heart", as Rakhi, whom he loved, had not only broken his heart, but "made a mockery of his sentiments."

Inspired by NDTV Imagine reality show, Rakhi Ka Swayambar, Jatin had made every possible effort to win her over. In response to her quest for a real love in one of the show episodes, Jatin had wielded cleaver on his arm and chest to get her name engrossed. Seriously injured in the process, he had to be hospitalised for a couple of days.

But, according to a  regional TV channel, on learning about the story of Jatin going crazy about Rakhi, the item girl had invited him for participation in the reality show.

On Rakhi’s invitation Jatin went to Mumbai, Delhi and Rsihikesh, but only to return back disappointed on each occasion. Despite reportedly inviting him, Rakhi neither bothered to meet him nor to involve him in the show.

Going by Jatin’s claims, however, Rakhi regretted for all this through e-mails and SMS. “To assuage my feelings, she promised to visit me in Amritsar, twice, but didn’t turn up. And while breaking the last promise in August this year, she rendered me poorer by lakhs of rupees as I had booked a palace, music group, decorations and eatables,” said Jatin.

 Jatin, from a low-middle class family, still claims to be holding true love for Rakhi, but, he wants to teach her a lesson for playing with his sentiments.

Jatin said that he would not mind going to the Supreme Court if need be.While criminal suit against Rakhi has been filed for hurting his sentiments, misleading and duping Jatin, a civil suit has been filed for the recovery of Rs. 5 lakh that he incurred in making the arrangements for her visit.
