Wearing a black and white bodysuit, the
Disturbia hitmaker walked around the stage as the machines kissed her, pinched her derriere and sprayed water on her.
The singer, touched herself suggestively as she sang
Rude Boy from her latest album 'Rated R' which entered the US Billboards at No.8.
The single has become the singer's fourth Hot 100 hit, the most by a female artist since the beginning of the last decade.
Rihanna's outrageous performance was perhaps recognition that she is facing competition from new faces on the music scene, including Lady GaGa and pop sensation Ke$ha, who has been nicknamed Baby Gaga.
Earlier, Rihanna arrived on the red carpet in a jumpsuit that featured exaggerated sleeves and a plunging neckline
Other performers at the event, which is dubbed the German Grammys, included British stars Robbie Williams and Sade.
